Faxing and eFax

Outbound faxing with an ATA can be challenging due to the nature of VoIP connections, where packets may be discarded or delayed. To improve faxing over VoIP, it is recommended to slow down the transmission speed, set the BAUD rate to 9600 bps or lower, and disable error correction mode. These settings can help make faxing over VoIP more consistent, but may not resolve all issues. Alternative options, such as the vFAX service or eFax, are available for reliable faxing.

To send an eFax, upload your correspondence as an email attachment and enter the recipient's 10-digit fax number followed by @fax-portal.com in the address field. This allows the fax to be transmitted via email. The recipient's fax number and @fax-portal.com are required in the email address field to successfully send the fax. The email is then transmitted as a fax to the recipient's fax machine.

To send a fax using the VentureTel.app, start by logging in at the website. Click on the Faxes icon in the left menu bar and then select Send New. Attach the desired document, fill out the required fields, and click Submit to complete the process. This will send the fax through the app.
