- VentureTel e911 Policy
VentureTel's e911 policy requires users to provide an accurate and up-to-date physical address to ensure fast emergency response. Users must update their address information immediately if they move, as inaccurate records can lead to delayed or misdirected emergency help. It may take up to 24 hours to verify and activate 911 services after updating address information. Users can test their e911 address by dialing 933 from their VentureTel VoIP device.
- Can I Use an Auto-Dialer with VentureTel?
VentureTel does not support the use of auto-dialers with its Business VoIP service. This is due to concerns about maintaining network quality, preventing spam and abuse, protecting the company's reputation, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Auto-dialers can generate a high volume of calls, potentially overloading the network and leading to issues with service quality. Customers with questions about auto-dialers or alternative solutions can contact VentureTel support for assistance.
- Why Texting is Not HIPAA Compliant and Guidelines for Safe Texting
Standard texting is not HIPAA compliant for handling Protected Health Information (PHI) due to lack of encryption, unsecured storage on devices, and absence of access controls and audit trails. To stay compliant, avoid texting PHI and use secure alternatives like Microsoft Teams chat for sensitive communication. It is safe to text general reminders, links to secure portals, and non-sensitive communication, but never include PHI or sensitive details in text messages. Consider implementing a HIPAA-compliant texting solution and train staff on safe texting practices to protect patient data.

The Customer is responsible for paying the invoiced amount for the designated services, and the Service Provider is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the Customer's information. The agreement also outlines the procedures for maintenance, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.
